I’m Lily. I was diagnosed with Spina Bifida as a fetus. I underwent my first surgery before I was born! Doctors are always surprised when they see me. They read Spina Bifida, hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation and assume I should look, act and talk a certain way. I walk differently than most children my age and have many helpers in my life. I have a had some pretty major surgeries since I was born mostly caused by hydrocephalus (spinal fluid build up in my brain). My complex medical case sometimes is tiresome, but my life is extremely fun. I love swimming, playing with my brother and friends, singing and make believe. Just like everyone else in the world, I want to be judged by my character and who I am on the inside. I am not my disability. I am Lily: a fun, hilarious, strong, independent girl full of joy. I am sweet, forgiving, loving, and accepting. I love warm hugs just like Olaf.
