My Story
This was my 3rd hip replacement but my 1st revision. I had metal to metal for 15 years and never thought of getting my blood tested for metal in my body. The level was extremely high and Orthopedic Dr said we need to take the metal out ASAP. Surgery went well but the next day when I was finally able to get out of bed I told the nurses I can’t feel my foot. Wow panic mode kicked in foe everyone. Little did I know I got drop foot. I thought 3 hip replacement was a charmed. So many MRI, scans plus much more and they can’t find that a nerve was cut. Something did happened and that was 10 months ago. What I’m hearing from neurologists that it could take 1 yr, 18 months, 2 yrs or longer. Continue to do exercise and stay healthy. My biggest issue is the pressure inside my foot. Feels like the outer shell warms to burst. I do have the nerve sensory but no motor or reflexes. I get around with a cane and several braces some I like and others just make my foot more numb. Looking forward to hearing stories and reaching out to others in my situation. ❤️
