My Story
One day, I noticed my left foot starting to turn inwards. At first, it seemed like a minor issue, but as time went on, it became clear that something more serious was happening. The inward turn progressed gradually, and before long, both of my legs were affected. The spasticity grew worse, making it increasingly difficult to walk. As my mobility decreased, I sought out solutions to maintain some independence. With the help of an AFO and a KAFO brace, which have given me the ability to walk shorter distances and stand, though it is challenging at time. For longer distances, I rely on my wheelchair. Despite these challenges, I refused to let my condition define me. I quickly discovered para ice hockey, a sport that not only reignited my passion for physical activity but also introduced me to an incredible community. I fell in love with the sport, and through it, I connected with people from all over Sweden and beyond. The camaraderie and support I found on the ice were unlike anything I had ever experienced. It wasn't just about the game; it was about the friendships, the shared experiences, and the sense of belonging. Today, I'm proud to be a member of the Swedish national para ice hockey team, representing my country and the sport that has given me so much. My journey hasn't been easy, but it's led me to a place where I can continue to push my limits, surrounded by a community that lifts me up. Through para ice hockey, I've found strength, purpose, and a new way to embrace life.
