I discovered I had foot drop after my spinal surgery and I was tripping all over the place. I had a nerve conduction test that confirmed that I had foot drop. I was informed by the physician that my two options were surgery and physical therapy. I'm 85 and do not want surgery however I tried some PT and it help somewhat, I have been wearing an AFO for two years and it help me to get around but now I have to wear a larger shoe to accommodate the AFO. which is uncomfortable and expensive. I am looking for a great AFO where I can play golf and walk long distances. I have tried quite a few braces namely, Orliman, AFservo.Boxia, Stept-Smart and Ossur. This is one of the reasons why I join so to check with some of the members that they could recommend some braces or some alternatives for my foot drop problem.
